How hard did we work,
I wasn’t really watching her grow
At the time there were other things
She was like a plant
We go out there to water it to get away
From all the stress
To just sit for a moment
And soak it all in
We don’t care how fast it grows
We just like watching it grow

We look back one day
At a picture of that plant
It was once so small
And now We can see it
Growing so big and bright
For all to see
People stop and the stare
They don’t know how long we sat so patiently
Just watering and waiting

They say we never know where the road will lead
If we never walk it
But the truth is
If our eyes aren’t open
Even if we walk that road
1000 times
We may not truly understand where it leads
We may not know the reason why
