No Regrets

Only one thing did I fear
That when I looked back at our time
Such things I would not see
Such happy faces and sweet looks
Staring back at me
Now looking back it’s clear to me
Tho gone you both may be
I gave you such an awesome life
As good as it could be
And tho I cry when I think back
And know you had to go
Such more pain I would feel if I
Looked back and did not know
Of all the places that we went
The time we spent was grand
The three of us we made a team
And that I understand
We touched the deepest places that
A man and dog could go
We bonded in ways that so many
Will never really know
It took me years to take the time
To look back there and see
The pictures of all of the places that
We went and got to see
And tho it took me far too long
To look back and recall
Now that I did there is nothing
That I regret at all
And so I’ll simply state this phrase
To summarize it all
“You both gave me the greatest gift
I ever will recall”
